Txuj Ci Third Grader Publishes First Book

While many students are working hard to become proficient readers in third grade, Miya Vang went above and beyond by publishing her own book!

Miya's first book, "Does The Teacher Like Me?", was inspired by her first grade teacher at Txuj Ci HMong Language & Culture Lower Campus. Miya wanted to write a book in Hmong and English because there weren't a lot of books written in Hmong. With the help of her mom and her cousin's beautiful illustrations, she was able to publish her very own children's book. 

In honor of National Reading Month in March, Miya was invited to do a book reading for her school where students had an opportunity to ask her questions about her and her book. Congratulations to Miya on this exciting achievement!
